Hi Nina, We are going to be ordering hatching eggs, as well. If you are interested in something like that, just let us know. Seattle Farm Coop is going to have some chicks from breeders in the near future, as well. See this posting for the breeds, dates and more info: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/seattlefarmcoop/message/7492

These first chix came from Dunlop.  Most of the next orders come from McMurray.  I will source from wherever we have to trying not to go to far East.  After the garden show I will be able to sit down and look into it (mon or tues).

If you are planning to go to the show, bring by your brochures for the 4H.  Otherwise, if not,  you can bring them by the grange and either put them in the mailbox or the nesting box .

Sincerely, Kevin

Oh cool. Where do you order your chicks from? I'm looking for just one or two of many different rare breeds, so I haven't been able to find them anywhere but McMurray. Would you be able to order just a couple each of the these? (I don't need them all, but maybe 8 breeds.)

Hello Nina- We do have our chicks in now (blk austra, rhode red, blk/gold sex links, buffs, barred rcks, blk silkies, polish, gld seabrights, amera/aruac, ).  I will special order any breeds you are looking for in the future.  We get our next shipment starting in March (weekly and biweekly).  I will sell the chicks to anyone belonging to SusWall for the price we get them for.  It might help on the receiving end of it.  Just let me know how we can be of hand to you.  sincerely, Kevin

I'm ordering chicks from McMurray in the next couple of days, and I'm looking for someone to go in on the order with me (since the minimum order is 25.) We would both save on shipping :)

Please let me know if you're interested! ninafinley@seattleacademy.org

Thanks,

Nina

I'm interested in starting a city 4H club in Seattle for kids with rabbits, chickens, ducks, and goats. Kids could use their own animals, or mine if they don't have their own. We would technically be a Snohomish County club which met in Seattle and showed at the Evergreen State Fair. If you're interested as a member or adult leader, please let me know!

Thanks!

Hello chicken keepers!
I'm going to order ducklings from Metzer Farms in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone need any ducklings, goslings, or game bird chicks? (Ducks are legal in the city and a really fun addition to the chicken coop!) It's way cheaper and easier to combine orders. The minimum is ten and I don't want that many for myself. Let me know at bluecowpets@yahoo.com or (206) 632-2164.
Thanks!
Nina

Hi Carolyn, thank for posting! Affirmative, they are good people. I am working with them on a project at the moment. Just hoping to get the Wallingforders to form a bit more of a community. It would be nice to know who around has the chickens and what we can all do for each other. Please chime in on the forum at http://greenwallingford.ning.com/forum/topics/chickens-whose-got-em if you have the time.

Aaron, there's already a group mobilized to do the bulk chicken food ordering. do you know of that?
seattleurbanfarmcoop is a local Yahoo group. check it out. or maybe you already know of that and are wanting to do this anyway?

Anyone actually still following this group? I am going to be starting a group order for locally produced chicken feed with my house on 50th as the pick-up point. If anyone is interested in organic locally produced chicken feed @ $28 for a 50# bag, please contact me at feed (at) team-tea.com or call me at 206,909,9940.
