Hi Mary, I am going camping this weekend with my neighbors and won't be able to come to the meeting. We are hoping to plan a block party for Meridian Ave, between 35th and 36th (and surrounding of course). Would it be possible to send us any info you are going to present to help us with our planning? Also, if anyone attends the meeting that will be planning one near our general location, I'd love to be in contact with them.
Hi Mary. Nice to finally meet you yesterday evening. Sorry that we didn't have more of a chance to talk. The pullets had just been spoken for when I talked to my friend. Good luck somewhere else. You should be able to find an older one on craigslist with a watchful eye. See you around. Aaron
Hi Mary, our house was vandalized last night and I wanted to report it to an appropriate block watch or local precint. Do you know who to contact? Nothing too serious, but still I think it is good to report so the police and block watch groups can map incidence.
Mary. Come to find out, I already had an Ning account and Wallingford is a network of Ning. My profile picture includes my granddaughter. Her name is Maddie; she just turned 9. There is some really cool stuff on this site. I hope noone notices that I'm from Indiana, nto Seattle; they might have me thrown out.
We'll talk next week. Bernie
Just talked this afternoon to the Mormon community prep person. She is AMAZING. See some of what they are doing at: http://providentliving.org/channel/0,11677,8033-1,00.html and she is very willing to speak, help, etc. A great resource. Let's talk.
This photo of tomatoes makes me hungry for summer. It actually triggers an idea I've wanted Tilth to embrace (not a great time for new ideas at Tilth with the director search going on.) I want the September Harvest Fair to become a Community Fair. Its already got some of the elements with chickens and tomato tasting, but I'd love prizes for biggest veges, tastiest jams, best crafts -- you know, really work up the old style state fair that the Puyallap used to be. I'll need community as well as Tilth support to pull this off but I think both Tilth and the community would benefit -- and it would be fun!
What do you think? The other SCALLOPS groups are running around planning these "Sustainability Fairs" when we've got the makings of a great Sustainability Fair already in place.
